Farewell My Beloved Camera

You will be missed. You help me savor memories from the mountains of Italy to the brave day I gave birth to the lovely, Sofia. Your love for capturing beauty and life’s precious moments will forever live in the thousands of photographs that you snapped. May you rest in peace.

My camera snapped its last photos in Portland, Oregon about one month ago and it decided that it would be its last. Now I am undertaking the grueling process of choosing the perfect camera, any suggestions would be appreciated. I look forward to posting new photographs very soon.

Silk Screen Printing

I, like many other creative types, enjoy working on as many projects as I can get my hands on at a time. In my “free time” which is quite limited, I just taught myself how to make how to make silk screens for screen-printing. I used some of the information from this website. I decided to make my first silk screen a very intricate and detailed Art Nouveau-type peacock design. It took several hours to actually create the screen, and I am very excited about the results.

I loved the process of making my own silk-screen, and now I have my heart set on a Gocco screen printer.

I just completed two brochure designs for Spa Space! One of the most satisfying feelings is completing a project and doing it well.

Free Image! Chipped Paint on Wooden Door

Please feel free to use the "Chipped Paint" photograph as you please. Textures can create interesting backgrounds in Photoshop collages. Print it and use it on an Artist Trading Card. Use it however you would like!

I included the "Chipped Paint" photograph in this 4 x 4 print of a flower. The original work is a mixed media piece with paint, digital imagery and photography. As you can see, the original image (1) is lacking the crackled effect that the "Chipped Paint" photograph creates. I incorporated the "Chipped Paint" photograph into 2, 3, and 4 in various ways and you can view the interesting effects it created.

Sweet Potato Flower

This is my first experience seeing one of my Sweet Potato Vines with flowers on it. The flowers are gorgeous, delicate and look a lot like Petunias. They grow very well in Minnesota and look amazing combined with other plants. Sweet Potato Vines adorn three window boxes on my house and multiple pots and hanging baskets throughout my yard and entryway. I have a true addiction to my garden!

This is a creation that I designed for my client, Heidi DeCoux. Heidi has several businesses, one being professional home and office organizing. I designed the CD cover, back, inside, spine, the CD, and other promotional materials for Heidi's audio CD, The Fast-Filing Method. Farmer's Markets & Farm Shares

I have been on an approximately three week sabbatical from working with clients. I am enjoying the remaining days of summer and appreciating the harvests at the St. Paul Farmer's Market and the glorious veggies from the Fox Tail Farm Share that my neighbors very kindly gifted to me.

I have been putting my artistry to work in my kitchen and preparing simple and glorious meals for my family.

I have a great desire to share this delicious recipe with you that can be easily tailored to meet your needs.

Fresh Fish with Heirloom Tomatoes, Herbs, and Vegetables over Fresh Pasta:

Ingredients:
Fresh fish of your choice, I used fresh Turbo Fillets
Onion
Heirloom Tomatoes
Yellow Squash
Radishes
Kale
Lemon
Salt
Cilantro, Basil (Fresh Herbs of Your Choice)
Pasture-Fed Butter
Olive Oil
Soy Sauce
Package of Fresh Linguini Noodles

In one pan: Carmelize chopped onions in butter. Add fish, 1/2 squeezed lemon juice, fresh herbs and a few dashes of soy sauce. Cook for appx. 5-10 minutes (depending on the fish).


In another pan:
Saute Fresh sliced and chopped vegetables (and fruits...tomatoes) in olive oil, add a dash of salt. Begin with the most dense (thicker takes longer to cook) veggies and add the remaining according to cook time. I started with the squash and radishes, then added the tomatoes and finished with the kale. This creates an amazingly delicious sauce.

Boil pasta according to directions on package!

Place sauce over fish and pasta.

My Garden

I live in a charming neighborhood in Minneapolis, where almost every yard has a sprawling garden, my yard included. My garden is the inspiration to much of my work and provides me much aesthetic joy! My garden features a wild amount of plants and flowers and here is a taste of what is in bloom now.

Art-A-Whirl is an open-studio and gallery tour of Northeast Minneapolis. It is an enticing event that calls and welcomes local and regional visitors who want to see the art that is created in Minneapolis.

More than 500 artists participate in Art-A-Whirl, showcasing creations in warehouses, homes, storefronts and cafes.

Studio 404 at the Northrup King Building

I am absolutely thrilled to inform you that I now have a studio, located in the Northrup King Building in NE Minneapolis. I am still creating my space, as you can see I am brightening up the walls! I hope to be fully moved in next week and invite everyone to visit my studio for the "First Thursday Event." "First Thursdays" (the first Thursday every month from 5-9pm) are incredible, because you actually get to tour art studios and meet the artists. There are over 160 artists located in the Northrup King Building, so it is the perfect place get inspired! You can find me in studio 404!
